August 2017 Bar Final Exam: Law School Releases Performance Analysis By Universities


* University of Ilorin emerged as University with the Best performance

The Council of Legal Education has finally released the result analysis of the performance of universities in the just concluded Bar Finals Examination.

Out of the students who sat for the examination, twenty nine (29) students emerged with a first class grade, 1,046 emerged with second class lower grade, 211 with the second class upper grade, 33 absent, 333 with conditional pass, 3,000 with the pass grade and a total of 1,272 students failed The total pass rate for the outgoing set of students of the Nigerian law School shows a fine result of 72%.

The analysis shows the University of Ilorin emerging first with a total of 94.9% pass rate, however, with only one student emerging with the first class grade.

The University of Lagos came second with a total pass rate of 93.9%. However the institution had a total of six (6) first class grades making it the school with the highest first class grade.

The Osun State University came third with a total pass rate of 91.8 % with only two students going home with the first class grade.

The school with the second highest number of first class grades is the University of Nigeria with a total of four students going home with the first class grade.

The analysis also shows the Usman Dan Fodio University as the home based institution with the worst performance of 25.7%.
