In a recent interview on Arise TV, former Niger Delta militant leader Asari Dokubo alleged that President Bola Tinubu is backing former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike in his efforts to destabilize the state.
Dokubo expressed his disappointment at the ongoing crisis between Wike and current Governor Fubara, which he believes is tied to a power struggle.
According to Dokubo, President Tinubu is allowing his minister, Wike, to “run amok and procure judgement” in an attempt to remove Governor Fubara from office. He warned that if Fubara is impeached, “something will happen” in Rivers State.
Dokubo emphasized that he is not seeking personal benefits or appointments, but rather speaking out as a stakeholder in Rivers State. He reiterated his earlier statement that he should be held responsible if President Tinubu fails to deliver on his promises to the Nigerian people.
The former militant leader also recalled how Tinubu stood by him during difficult times, particularly when former President Obasanjo allegedly sought to kill him. Dokubo vowed to continue supporting Tinubu, even if the president encounters difficulties in the future.
