In two separate petitions sent to the State House of Assembly signed by Mohammed Ibrahim which was made available to reporters at the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalist, stake holders in the state faulted the recommendation of the State Judicial Service Commission, JSC, to the National Judicial Council, NJC, which recommends Rabi as the most qualified candidate. They urged the JSC to avert what they called looming catastrophe in the state judiciary over the appointment. In the letter the stake holders alleged that JSC misled the NJC into approving the recommendation without intensive and rigorous scrutiny of all the candidates. They alleged that the recommendation of Rabi violates the tradition of the appointment in the Judiciary where the most senior judge is being considered first. “She is not the most senior, she is not an indigene of the state, there are allegations of judicial impropriety and corruption against her, as she once alleged to have entertained a case outside her jurisdiction and decided the case which is in the jurisdiction of Kaduna State,” the petition reads. The letter alleged that her recommendations was master minded by herself when she single headedly appointed the State JSC Secretary, and the officials of the immediate past administrations who allegedly used Nigeria Bar Associations and the Registrar of the State High Court to register support for her appointment.]]>
