Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba of the All Progressives Congress says he doubts the nation’s electoral process even though he has implicit confidence in the judiciary.

He stated this in Calabar after he lost his appeal against Senator Sandy Onor of the Peoples Democratic Party at the Court of Appeal in Calabar.

Fourteen other candidates of the APC in Cross River State also failed in the Court of Appeal.

Ndoma-Egba said, “I have implicit confidence in the judiciary but I have doubts on our electoral process. I congratulate Sandy on his victory and recent conferment as a professor as I wish him the best.”

Ndoma-Egba contested the Central Senatorial District election in Cross River against Onor and lost both in the field and at the tribunal.

Another APC candidate, Alex Egbona went to the Appeal Court to contest the declaration of John Gaul-Lebo of PDP as winner of the Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency at the tribunal.

While delivering judgment, Justice Tanko Hussein said all the judgments were delivered in brief as details could be got later due to lack of time.

He affirmed the decision of the tribunal and said all the appeals by the APC petitioners “lacked merit and were dismissed.”

In the case of Egbona, the Appeal Court ordered a re-run election in Igbo Ekureku Wards 1 and 2 to be conducted by Independent National Electoral Commission within 90 days.
