Nwokoye and his wife, Jessica, were in April last year, allegedly brutalized by the men of DSS in his hotel in Awka, a development that affected Nwokoye’s sight. He was beaten to stupor following his alleged refusal to release information about 22 expatriate medical doctors invited by Anambra State government for free medical mission in the state who were, at the time of the incident, accommodated in his hotel. He later dragged the security operatives to court for infringing on his fundamental rights. He said: “I was handcuffed with my wife like common criminals. I have never seen such a thing in my life. The retina of my eyes has been damaged and I was humiliated for no offence committed.” When the matter came up for hearing yesterday, counsel to the DSS, Mr. S.T Oneh sought the leave of court to discontinue with the matter.]]>
