The Law Firm of Afe Babalola & Co. (Emmanuel Chambers) and the Nigerian Bar Association, Ibadan Branch is set to co-host a football competition. This was made known in a Joint Press Conference by Oluwasina Ogungbade, a partner at Afe Babalola and Co.

“This is to intimate the general public and particularly the legal community that our Firm in partnership with the Nigerian Bar Association, Ibadan Branch is co-hosting a football competition amongst the Legal Practitioners within the Ibadan Bar famously known as the Premier Bar. The Competition will form part of the Law Week Celebration of the Ibadan Bar which is commencing this week.”Ogungbade said.
TheNigeriaLawyer(TNL) gathered that the Competition which is to be known as: AARE AFE BABALOLA, SAN/IBADAN BAR FOOTBALL LEAGUE would be solely sponsored by Afe Babalola & Co. comprising of all their offices in Ibadan, Lagos, Abuja, and Port-Harcourt to celebrate and honour their Founder/Principal: Aare Afe Babalola, OFR, CON, SAN, FNIALS, FCIArb.
Ogungbade added that:
“We have chosen to use football as a mark of honour for our Founder/Principal because of his love and passion for the game. Our Founder/Principal always finds time to watch good football despite his very busy working schedule.
“This is the first edition of the competition and it is going to be a continuous annual event to be held as part of the Law Week Celebration of the Ibadan Bar. This competition will increase the bonding and deepen the friendship amongst Lawyers in the Premier Bar.A cash award of the sum of N250,000 will be given to the winning team; N150,000 to the 2nd place team and N100,000 to the third place team.”
The firm, therefore, invites the general public and all football lovers to come and watch the Lawyers play football “in the most legal and constitutional manner.”Yusuf Raimi, Esq. represented the NBA Ibadan Branch in the Joint Conference and Kelly O. Ogbe, Esq. of Afe Babalola& Co was also present.
