The NBA Ikorodu branch’s Legal team set up to provide PROBONO services to the family of the late Adijat and other victims of the shooting at Adamo, Ikorodu, Lagos met on Monday, 25th March, 2019, to discuss strategies to help the families and victims of shooting.
The sum of N50,000.00 was approved to run logistics for volunteer lawyers to begin work by first visiting Panti for the purpose of building the case against the police officers involved in the shooting.
NBA Ikorodu branch will be collaborating with Mr. Femi Falana and the office of Hon. S. O. B. Agunbiade to seek justice and compensation for the victims of the shooting and their families.
Currently, about 20 members of the NBA Ikorodu branch have volunteered to render this service at no cost to the families of the victims of the Adamo Shooting.
The Vice Chairman of the Branch; Mrs. Gloria Cassius who heads the NBA Ikorodu branch Human Rights committee leads the Group that interfaces with the police to ensure proper investigation and to seek compensation for the victims while Mrs. Odunola Jegede; Chairperson of the Legal Aid and Probono Committee of the branch leads the group that will hold watching brief during the trial of the case.
The initial fund provided to manage this legal team was sourced from the grant given to the Branch’s Legal Aid Committee by Total E&P Staff Cooperative Society.
