What makes you think you are the rightful PDP candidate in Abia State? I have filed an appeal against the judgment. The court erred in declaring Uche Ogah as the governor without considering the major details of the case. It is a miscarriage of justice. Ogah refused to accept the result of the PDP primary election and petitioned the party to conduct another primary. Ogah also went ahead to tender on oath a document where he claimed to be the leader of the aspirants, who rejected the primaries. This is perjury which is a serious offence because he was the sole signatory of the document but claimed to be the leader of other aspirants who did not append their signatures on the document. Uche Ogah stated in court that non delegates including people from neighbouring states, civil servants, traders and students voted in the primaries. He said real delegates were locked out of the exercise. Uche Ogah’s suit is an abuse of court process. It is incompetent and ought to have been struck out by the court. I filed my suit on 2nd March, 2015 and joined INEC, PDP, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu and Ogah as respondents, but Ogah went and filed another suit on the same subject matter on 20th April, 2015, where he took some of the documents I served him as a respondent in my suit and converted it to file his own suit. I have challenged him in court to produce the certified true copies of the documents he filed in court, but he is yet to comply for more than three months now. So, the court was wrong to have ignored such facts to deliver judgment in favour of an aspirant, who insisted that there was no primary election conducted. It is unfortunate that he turned around to seek favour from a process he totally condemned. Ogah should behave like a gentleman; he should wait for the conduct of the exercise for which he condemned and petitioned the PDP to rerun. As far as the law is concerned, he has forfeited his right to benefit from the exercise he condemned. I have filed an appeal at the Court of Appeal, I am confident that the appellate courts will rectify the situation and confirm me as the authentic person to be sworn in as governor of the state. On the other hand, as a party man, Uche Ogah is bound by the PDP’s decision zoning the governorship to Abia South. Abia North has done eight years during the era of Orji Uzor Kalu; Abia Central just completed eight years through Theodore Orji. In all these, the Ukwa/Ngwa bloc gave them maximum support. So, why will Uche Ogah and his group seek to short-change Abia South? Uche Ogah in a recent interview through his counsel, Monday Onyekachi Ubani, described your claims to the governorship seat as absurd Monday Onyekachi Ubani is a legal practitioner, who has been hired by Ogah. So, the statements you expect from him are comments that will make his client to retain his services. He is only playing to the gallery. In that interview, Ubani alleged that the PDP woman who presided over the primary election confirmed to Dr Uche Ogah that she did not ask for signatures from agents because the environment was very rowdy. Since he claimed the environment was rowdy, how did Ikpeazu’s agent including mine, append their signatures on the results? Lawful candidate In the eyes of the law, Uche Ogah never took part in the exercise. Since Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, who emerged winner has been disqualified by the court, I remain the lawful candidate; the court ought to have declared me governor. It is a grave miscarriage of justice for the court to have declared Ogah. This will be duly corrected by the appellate courts of the land. Some of your Ukwa/Ngwa kinsmen insist that your action in filing the suit against Ikpeazu is against the interest of the zone? The PDP recognizes zoning in its Constitution. The governorship position was zoned to Abia South. When I discovered the discrepancies in Ikpeazu’s tax documents, I contacted some Ukwa/Ngwa elders including Elder Emma Adaelu, Eze Eberechi Dick, Eze Love Wogu and others in company of a former deputy governor from the zone. They noted my complaints and promised to get back to me, but till date, I never heard from them. What I did was in the best interest of the Ukwa/Ngwa people to stop other aspirants from outside Abia South from taking over what is due to the zone if they prove the tax forgery allegation against the governor. Today, the verdict of the Federal High Court has vindicated me. Some of the Ukwa/Ngwa people who were threatening me to withdraw the suit, have been commending me. Source: vanguardngr]]>
