Uproar At National Assembly As Muslim Organisations Protest Postponement of Public hearing on Hijab controversy.

The public hearing on the Hijab controversy BETWEEN THE NIGERIAN LAW SCHOOL AND AMASA FIRDAUS (A LAW SCHOOL GRADUATE) HR. 195/2017 which is supposed to hold today, 14th March, 2018 was Postponed for the second time.

TheNigerialawyer recalls that the House of Representatives on the 12th of this month announced that there will be a public hearing on Fidaus`hijab controversy which was initially scheduled to be held on Tuesday 6th February, 2018.

TheNigerialawyer also recalls that Justice Anwuli Chikere of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, 28th February, ordered that the public hearing by the House of Representatives on hijab controversy between the Nigerian Law School and Ms Firdrusa Abdulsalam be suspended pending the determination of the substantive suit.

  1. The hijab issue should be sorted once and for all… law school, NYSC, school of Nursing etc should be forced to respect the Muslim constitutional right. Why must we always bring shame to ourselves, when countries in the developed world allow hijab on the military uniform.

    Justice will prevail. Freedom granted to the nakedly dressed female lawyers but saying no to those who chose to cover their chastises is a crime against humanity.
