A 24-year-old teacher has been arraigned before an Abuja Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing a neighbour’s television set in Byazhin, Kubwa in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Edeh Tochi of Byazhin was charged with criminal trespass and theft, offenses contrary to sections 342 and 281 of the Penal Code.

The police prosecutor, Babajide Olanipekun told the court that the complainant, Mbara Kennedy of same address, on September 2, reported at the Kubwa police station that the accused, on August 27, criminally entered his room and stole his LG “32” television set valued at N53,000 without his consent.

When the charges were read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N50,000 by the judge, Mohammed Marafa, with two reasonable sureties who must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction.
The case was adjourned to November 4 for hearing.
