Tarzoor, who challenged the victory of Governor Samuel Ortom of All Progressives Congress, APC, at the tribunal, had his petition dismissed by the Justice Elizabeth Karatu-led panel.

In a press statement issued yesterday in Makurdi by his Chief Press Secretary, Terhemen Hwande, the candidate noted that his petition was sound and premised on credible grounds, which if viewed dispassionately, would have guaranteed his victory.

He stated that his decision to approach the appellate court with the matter was premised on his conviction and belief that the Nigerian judiciary remained the hope of the ordinary citizen.

Mr. Tarzoor was quoted as saying that “once the text of the judgement is released to my team of lawyers, the Court of Appeal, Makurdi Division, is certainly my next destination in my quest for justice.

“Moreover, we all know that the Appellate Court has a rich history of dispensing justice without fear or favour. Besides, the court had already given judgements which laid a precedent for my victory when approached.”

The gubernatorial candidate, who urged his supporters to remain calm, commended them for their show of solidarity, commitment and dedication before, during and after the period of the sitting of the Tribunal.
