Nigerian Senate

The Senate has adjourned its sitting to tomorrow Wednesday and as well suspended the planned debate on the economy over the demise of a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Elijah Olawale, who until his death on Sunday, July 24, 2016 represented the Ifako/Ijaiye federal constituency of Lagos State.

Olawale had died shortly after the National Assembly proceeded on its annual recess on Thursday, July 21, 2016.

The Senate’s decision to suspend all its activities for today was in compliance with a parliamentary tradition, which will also forced the House of Representatives to do same shortly.
