Security operatives have arrested two retired permanent secretaries, accountant and cashiers in Benue State for their alleged involvement in the looting of the state treasury during the last administration.
Our reporter gathered that the affected persons were arrested by the police force Headquarters Abuja, where where they will have to explain their various roles in the alleged fraud.
When contacted, the Attorney General and commissioner for Justice, Michael Gusa, who confirmed the arrest, said they were all arrested for questioning by the police.
According to him they were picked to explain their various roles in the misapplication of the State funds during their service in their respective offices, adding that, the gesture is not to witch hunt anybody but to ensure that the rule of law prevail.
Gusa said, the move by the governor Samuel Ortom led administration was to recover all the alleged looted funds from the state treasury and it would continue till the aim is achieved.
