The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Mines and Steel Development Alhaji Umar Farouq has described the recent appointment of Alhaji Ahmed Idris as the new Accountant General of the Federation AGF as “merit-based” and timely.
Alh. Farouq made the remark at a dinner organized in honour of the newly appointed AGF in Abuja, saying honesty and good disposition earned him the confidence of others as well as helped him to excel.
While recalling the development that led to his appointment as the country’s AGF by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Permanent Secretary said Idris who was the immediate past Director of Finance and Accounts in the ministry, had over the years demonstrated remarkable honesty in the discharge of his duties.
According to the Perm-Sec, “Idris served meritoriously as Deputy Director under many Finance Directors during which his honesty and good disposition to duty earned him the confidence of others as well as helped him to excel.”
Responding, the AGF thanked the staff of the ministry for the honour, and assured of his dedication and patriotic service in his new role.
President Muhammadu Buhari, had on June 25th appointed Alh. Ahmed Idris as the new Accountant General of the Federation. Born on the 25th of November 1960, Alhaji Idris hails from Kano state.
