The Ogun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Olajide Ojuko, has disclosed government’s plan to establish a chieftaincy tribunal to check chieftaincy related disputes in the state.
Ojuko spoke during the visit of the House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs as part of their oversight functions to the Ministry in Oke-Mosan at the weekend, according to a release signed by the ministry’s Information Officer, Oluwaseun Boye.
He said the present administration would not relent at repositioning the state’s traditional council for better performance and grassroots development.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, the chairman, Hon. Olusola Sonuga, commended the ministry for living up to its responsibility of ensuring adequate supervision and monitoring of the LGAs.
