The NBA 2nd Vice President Mr Monday Onyekachi Ubani on Friday visited Makurdi branch of NBA. This was his second visit to Northern Region in respect of his official engagement for NBA. But this time to the North Central Zone. The visit was very captivating as both Mr Ubani and lawyers from the North Central had treasured moment.

According to the 2nd Vice President “it was a time he will treasure for a very long time.” The host State was Benue, the Food Basket of the Nation and the host city was Makurdi.
He arrived on the 20th of July and left the city on the 22nd July en route to Abuja and back to Lagos on the 23rd of July.

“Every second was well spent. They had in attendance 98 per cent of the Chairmen and Secretaries of all the branches in the North Central Zone comprising 6 States and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. They also visited the key stakeholders in the Judiciary viz the Chief Judge of the State and the President of Customary Court of Appeal.”

“In their interactions with them, they reiterated NBA’s desire to have a justice system that is efficient, time conscious and working for all.”

They held a stakeholders meeting with the leaders of the Bar and rounded the event with Dinner and Cultural Night with traditional music, dance and singing.

” It was an unforgettable event. As a food basket of the nation, we had so much to eat in that city, for example, we had breakfast, lunch, lunch within lunch and of course Dinner.
The hospitality of the Benue people are unprecedented,” MOU said.

The Vice President thanked the indefatigable Chairman of Makurdi Branch of the Bar, Mr Agbakor and his Exco.

He gave kudos to them. “These guys were wonderful hosts,”he said.

TheNigerialawyer recalls that the 2ndVice President, MOU has earlier been to North West Zone of the region, the host was Kaduna State. The next port of call will be North East Zone in one of the States after our Annual Conference in Lagos.
