Chairman of the NBA Bwari branch of the NBA, MOHAMMED.I. TSAV may be removed as Chairman of the branch, if the motion seeking for his removal is successfully moved and allowed. In a memo circulated in the Northern branch of the NBA, under the designation of the branch’s Secretary, Mr. Ashimole Felix, the chairman and indeed other executives of the branch have been notified of a motion to be moved for the removal of the chairman. The motion which was brought pursuant to Sections 8(5), 13 & 14(5)(7), of the Nigerian Bar Association Uniform Bye-Law for branches contains various grounds upon which the motion is to be moved. The grounds are as follows: 1. Contrary to Section 13(6) of the Bye Law, you Mohammed I. Tsav withdrew the sum of N250,000(Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) Only on or around 17th August, 2017. That you withdrew on or around 18th September, 2017, withdrew the sum of N50,000(Fifty Thousand Naira) Only. A copy of the Access Bank Statement of Account of NBA Bwari, is annexed and marked “A”. 2. That you, without Executive or General Meeting approval, in November, 2017, paid the sum of N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) Only, to your friend for the hoisting of NBA Bwari website, a website that is not functional. 3. That contrary to Section 7(3)(C) of the Bye Law, wrote, signed and dispatched about 48 letters to the National Assembly. A copy of the letter is annexed and marked “B” 4. That contrary to 3 above and Section 7(6)(c)you compiled list of financial members of the Branch and sent same to National Secretariat as names of financially up to date members of the branch/eligible voters. 5. That contrary to section 10(10)(5) you knowingly made One Edak, the Secretary of Bwari Bar Advisory Committee. 6. That you have been carrying out the affairs of the Executive contrary to 8(5) of the Bye Law. 7. That your conduct during meetings are conduct unbecoming of a Chairman of the Branch. You brought armed policemen into NBA meeting with intent of using them to harm, intimidate and forcefully remove members of the branch who disagreed with your draconian, tyrannical running of the branch and chairing of the meeting. 8. That you doctored minutes of meeting that you did not take but included names of people who did not support you and oppose the undemocratic manner you have been ruining the Branch. 9. That you have no respect for the national body or respect for NBA. Your continuous retention of Ahmed Luqman and M.C.Uzougwu on the letter headed paper of the branch as past Chairman and Secretary of the branch contrary to NBA General Secretary’s letter that Chairmen and Secretaries of Committees are not reckoned with in NBA as past Chairman or Secretary. 10. That you have acted against the spirit and letter of the Bye Law which you swore to uphold.
