The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday said it has recovered over N54 billion from fraudsters and politicians in the North Western region in the last 10 months.

The agency also said another N54 billion was recovered from petroleum marketers as well as over $622,000 and other property including eight houses, nine plots of land, three trucks and a car.

The zonal head of the EFCC, Nnaghe Itam said this while speaking at a press conference in Kano.

Itam said the anti-graft agency have secured convictions for 23 out of 214 cases.

He also said the EFCC was also working towards prevention of corruption by partnering with youth organisations like the NYSC integrity club, school campaigns and through essay competitions.
