He told the court to dissolved his five-year-old marriage to Sakirat for alleged misbehaviour. The petitioner wrote in a paper that his wife always wanted to assume the role of the family head whenever a decision was to be taken. He said, “I am tired of her, she collected unnecessary money from me, she locked me outside whenever am coming back from work and also planning to sell my house. “Your honour, I want an end to this marriage because this is the second time I wrote petition against her. The first time she promised to change from her misbehaviour, but failed to do so.” The respondent, Sakirat, who burst into tears in the court, said she still love her husband and didn’t want to divorce him. Sakirat said that their marriage was contracted in 2011 and produced a child. She said, “Please, I didn’t want to be a single mother and I will put a stop to my misbehaviour. “I agreed that he should marry second wife, but I am begging him not to divorce me.” The Magistrate, Mr. Abdulquadr Ibrahim, dissolved their marriage and issue a certificate of divorce to the petitioner.
