Jummai Alhassan

The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Aisha Jummai Alhassan, has denied reports (not Thenigerialawyer) that she slumped during her two day visit to the Internal Displaced Persons’ camp in Fufore LGA of Adamawa State.

It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had instructed the minister to investigate allegations of human rights abuse in IDP camps in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.

Her director of Information, Mallam Hassan Dodo, quoted the minister as saying that she had gone to ensure that the displaced persons were well catered for, and also to inspect the stores where the federal government had bought provisions for the needs of the IDPs.

“When I went into the stores to inspect the items, it was quite stuffy and I had to sit down, I even spoke to some pressmen after the inspection, I am shocked that the media is saying I slumped,” she said.
