As the NBA National Election approaches, branches as well are set to change the faces of those who are pilot the affairs of the bar, at the grass level. This is necessary as periodic election is also applicable in the bar. Typical as it is in such seasons, aspirants are already enlightening those at the bar of their capacity as able bar men who can serve and take the bar to the next level. It is in the light of the above that Mr. Eke Onyeforo Esq has presented himself to serve as the Secretary of the Owerri branch of the NBA. Eke Onyeforo Esq was born on the 2nd of October 1980. He is currently the Secretary Okwuorji Neighborhood Meeting Egbeada, Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo State from 2012 till date. COMMENT FROM THE ASPIRANT: I want to make Owerri become “a digital bar”. I intend doing the following: On the instruction of the Chairman, give adequate notice of our Monthly, Annual general meetings, Executive Committee Meetings and other meetings of the branch, by posting same on all our social media platforms and by also promptly posting same in our various courts.  I intend sustaining the tempo of the current secretary in minutes recording and posting same on our platforms, few days after meetings; to make the secretariat truly functional by creating files for every member of the branch, so that members can put copies of their payment receipts of BPF, Branch dues and other levies in the file. This will forestall this current situation of lawyers not been able to find their payment receipts; to keep an up-to-date directory of members of the branch, by maintaining the soft copies of the current directory and only to update same annually to accommodate those who are being called and those members who did not utilize the earlier opportunity; to create a website for the branch with the permission of the chairman: this will advertise members to the world and also to make myself available at all times, for the service of  the Owerri bar. I have done this before, and will do it again, if you give me the opportunity. ]]>
