The accused, however, pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Eigbejiale, told the court that the accused committed the offences in May 2016 at Obantoko area in Abeokuta. Eigbejiale said that the accused defrauded Afusat Shoneye of N2 million under the pretext of selling a Toyota Avalon 2015 Model car to her. The prosecutor said that the accused fraudulently converted the money to his personal use. He alleged that the offences contravened Sections 386 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Law of Ogun, 2006.
