The national secretary of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Mr. Labaran Maku has cleared the air over invitation extended to him by the Department of state security service.
Contrary to allegations making round that the Nasarawa APGA governorship candidate in the 2015 elections was invited for investigation on corruption indictment, Maku said “the purpose of the invitation was to caution me over threat to my life”.
” The DSS intercepted an information that is of interest to my personal security. So they called me to draw my attention to be careful and proactive”.The APGA chieftain who was at the state secretariat of his party in Lafia yesterday to address his supporters on false rumor that he was quizzed by the DSS over corruption issue told news men that it has never being in his nature to touch things that does not belong to him let alone stealing from government coffers.
Maku lamented that the great work that security operatives are doing to secure lives are being muddled in political waters but called on Nigerians to appreciate and support the intelligent services of security operatives in the country. The former minister of information and one time supervisory minister of defense, also cautioned politicians to stop politicising security issues and rather support and give useful information to security operatives to enable them carry out their work effectively.
Maku however advised politicians in the country not to engage themselves in utterances and acts leading to shedding of blood as political season enfolds. “As politicians don’t shed blood for power, your life is just one breath away, your ambition or office does not worth the life of one soul of any citizen, your business is to the protect lives of people. “All politicians should not forget that there is a limit to power.
