A statement signed by the Acting Chief Registrar of the High Court of Lagos State Mrs D.T.Olatokun, stated that the Chief Judge approved the break pursuant to order 45, Rule 4(A)&(B) of the High Court of Lagos State Civil Procedure Rules 2012. According to the statement, Hon.Justice Olufunmilayo Atilade has made arrangements for dealing with urgent cases during the break by directing Judges to preside over all urgent applications related to any substantive case already assigned to them. The statement further specified that in line with the provisions of Order 45 Rule 4, any matter may be heard by a Judge during the Easter vacation where such a case is urgent and provided that the conditions prescribed by Order 45 Rule 5 is observe and complied with.
