The government made the announcement in a statement issued, on Tuesday, by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem. According to Kazeem, the government filed a notice of appeal and motion for stay of execution of the judgment before the Appeal Court in Lagos, on Monday, having not been satisfied with the verdict. The appeal court has adjourned hearing of the application for stay of execution to November 18. It would be recalled that a high court sitting in Igbosere had sacked the caretaker committees in all the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs, describing them as illegal and compelling the state government to hold election into them within 30 days.]]>
