The union embarked on the strike to press home its demands for implementation of promotion, annual increment, among others. State JUSUN Chairman, Jimoh Musa, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lafia on Thursday, that the suspension followed an agreement reached between the union and the state government. He said that the state government at a meeting attended by the Head of Service, representatives of the court and the union, agreed to set up a committee to look into the demands. Musa said that the committee which would have representatives of the union would advice the government on ways to address the problems. The chairman said the committee had one month to submit its report. Musa, who said that the union was suspending the strike, added that, “if after the window period of one month nothing was done, the members would continue with the strike.’’ While calling on its members to resume work immediately, the chairman call on the state government to be sincere in order to avoid any industrial disharmony in future.
