Counsel to the Federal Government in the ongoing forgery trial against Senate President Bukola Saraki, his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu and others has said he “is not ready for the case”
Prosecution counsel, Aliyu Umar (SAN) said the case was fixed for today for the commencement of hearing, but he was just informed of the service of a motion by the first defendant on the Attorney General of the Federation.
The Motion was served on Monday.
Saraki, Ekweremadu, former Clerk of the National Assembly, Salisu Maikasuwa, and his deputy, Benedict Efeturi were July 27 granted bail by Justice Yusuf Halilu of a Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Jabi, Abuja.
Umar said “honestly I am not ready for the case”, he said.
“If it will cost us this embarrassment, I would not mind as long as the right thing his done”, he said.
