Mrs Taiwo Obasanjo’s curious decision has naturally provoked shock and confusion among some members of the Obasanjo clan. The woman has, however, vowed to press on with the case irrespective of whose ox is gored. Her son, Olujonwo, is scheduled to tie the nuptial knot with pretty Tope Adebutu, daughter of Sir Kessington Adebutu a.k.a. Baba Ijebu, owner of popular Premier Lotto, on May 11. However, if the court grants Olujonwo’s mother’s unusual request, he would have to await a date after June 1, his birthday, to experience the joy of matrimony. The groom’s mother has averred that she was not carried along in the wedding’s planning process. She also claimed that all her efforts to get Obasanjo and Adebutu to see sense and shift the wedding date according to spiritual warnings she received had fallen on deaf ears, hence her resort to the courts. Family members and close friends are, however, said to be talking to the aggrieved groom’s mother to withdraw the matter from court.]]>
