RE: NBA 2018 : “PAUL USORO IS THE BEST FOOT FORWARD”- AKWACROSS LAWYERS FORUM. In the letter the Governing Council of EBF stated it clearly that there has been a tradition on how to adopt candidates that will run for the NBA President that this method has always been the best and have served the Forum well. The Governor, has also called on the members of the EBF to stop making utterances or actions that will no good for the Forum. Read the letter below Mr. Mba Ukweni SAN, The Chairman, Akwa – Cross Lawyers Forum, CALABAR . Dear sir, RE: NBA 2018 : “PAUL USORO IS THE BEST FOOT FORWARD”- AKWACROSS LAWYERS FORUM. The attention of the Governing Council of the Eastern Bar Forum ( EBF)has been drawn to a publication titled as above. The EBF Council finds it necessary at this point to put the record straight as follows: 1. The EBF has a tradition of choosing the candidates that will run for NBA Presidency and who becomes the Governor of EBF 2. These two prime positions have always been alternated between the five core Eastern States on the one hand and the four south -South States of the old Eastern Region on the other hand. 3. With respect to the office of the President of the NBA, the last occupant of that office was from the south south of EBF. Consequently, the next President of the NBA shall be produced by the South -East of the EBF. 4. Similarly, before the current Governor of the EBF who is from the South- East, his predecessor was from the South-South of the EBF. 5. This tradition has served the EBF well. 6. As a result all members of the EBF should desist from taking any action or making any utterance that would undermine this tradition which has been entrenched in the EBF Constitution. Signed.
