The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Concillators (ICMC) is a professional body that regulates the practice of mediation and conciliation in Nigeria. It is responsible for the training of prospective candidates and encourages organisations and institutions to adopt mediation as the primary mechanism for addressing disputes. The honoraries include: Director General of the Nigerian Law School, Mr Olanrewaju A. Onadeko, SAN, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremandu, Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr. Maikanti Kacalla Baru, Chairman Independence National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, etc. The award is given in other to recognize the outstanding contributions made by individuals or organizations for furthering the course. It is scheduled to be done on the same day that new members of the institute will be inducted.
