Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe State has stated that the dragging court case now at the Supreme Court over his victory during last year’s polls was a normal democratic process.
According to him, the Court case should not be misconstrued as an offensive action or a deliberate act that can frustrate policies and programmes of the government.
Speaking through his Deputy, Hon. Charles Iliya, when members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) paid the Governor Christmas and New Year homage at the Government House on Thursday, he expressed appreciation to them for the support accorded him in 2015 which led to his re-election for a second term.
Dankwambo who attributed the prevailing peace and unity in the State and success of his Government to the fervent prayers being offered by religious bodies, called for calm and more prayers for the success of his administration.
Responding to some demands of the Christian body, Honourable Iliya assured CAN that he would personally approach the State Governor over the need to employ more CRK teachers in secondary schools. According to him, the teaching of religious morals in schools was attached to bringing up children with the fear of God.
