But on Thursday, Nnamdi Dimgba, the judge, ruled that the impeachment did not follow constitutional provisions. Dimgba held that in the 25-member assembly, only a fraction of members consented to the impeachment of Jimoh. He, therefore, ordered the reinstatement of the plaintiff as speaker. Jimoh had filed a suit at the court challenging his removal. The removal of the principal officers of the assembly in February plunged it into a crisis.
