This was contained in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Alhaji Danladi Abubarka, a copy of which was made available to journalists in Lokoja yesterday. The statement stated that with the development, AM Isaac Alfa will represent Kogi East Senatorial District. Abubarka explained that the Court had on Tuesday struck out the application filed by Senator Attai Aidoko seeking a stay of execution over the judgment against him to stop parading himself as PDP candidate. The statement noted that Justice Nnamdi Dimgba in his ruling had dismissed the motion filed by Senator Aidoko, stressing that granting the prayers as contained in the application would amount to standing justice on its head. “Justice Dimgba had in an earlier declaratory judgment declared Alfa as winner of the Kogi Eastern Senatorial primary election. He therefore, ordered PDP to withdraw the submission of Aidoko’s name to INEC, and replace it with Air Marshal Isaac Alfa’s name, and ordered Senator Aidoko to stop parading himself as PDP candidate- elect henceforth,” the statement said It would be recalled that Alfa had approached the Federal High Court, Abuja to challenge the decision of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee to willfully denied him the mandate given by the people of Kogi East and gave it Senator Aidoko, who allegedly disrupted the PDP primary election on 7th December, 2014 at Idah “The Senatorial re-run election in Kogi East was declared inconclusive according to INEC returning officer, Mr. Salihu James, because the election was fraught with irregularities and election materials were allegedly snatched”, it noted ]]>
