our reporter gathered that the court officials were acting on court order, which directed the sealing off of the bank branches for breaching over N3 billion contract with Tuns Farms Nigeria Limited. Court officials had stormed the four branches of Skye Bank around 8.20 a.m when the bank was about to begin operations, preventing transactions and other activities. All the staff members were sent out while cars, generators and other movable property of the banks were moved away by the court officials. The Honda Accord with registration number Lagos KTU 373 AY, belonging to the regional manager of the bank in Fagbewesa Street, Osogbo, was also towed away. Pleading with court officials, regional manager (names withheld) who was perplexed over the situation, said his second car at the Alekuwodo branch had been towed away, urging the court officials to leave one for him to enable him move around. Our reporter learnt that the bank had entered into agreement with Tuns Farm in 2005, with the purpose of granting a credit facility of N414 million to the company and the money was obtained to develop the Abuja property projected to earn Tuns a net income of N1.152 billion. It was gathered that Skye Bank allegedly only released N150 million, thus frustrating the company’s project, culminating in alleged huge loss of investment.
