* Order for election within 140 days

The suit filed by Barr. Haruna S. Iliyasu Favour a former governorship candidate in the state against the Nasarawa State government, Attorney General of Nasarawa State, Nasarawa State house of Assembly and the 11 people appointed sole administrators to run the affairs of the 11 out of the 13 local government in the state ended up in a judgment in favour of Barr. Haruna S. Iliyasu Favour on the 15/12/2016.

In delivering the judgment, the presiding judge of the court (High court 2 Keffi) Justice S.A Ayiwulu nullified the appointment of sole administrators in
the state and also invalidated the appointment of Interim Management Committee which was carried out when the case was subsisting.

The presiding judge also invalidated and declared the Local Government Amendment Law 2016 which paved way for the re -appointment of unelected persons (4-14 defendants) to run the affairs of the Local Government councils in the state null and void and Ordered for a conduct of an election within 140 days from the day of the judgment.
