The Magistrate, Mrs Olubukola Olowolagba, in granting the bail ordered the accused to produce two sureties in like sum.

An Osogbo Magistrate’s Court on Thursday granted a 28-year-accused, Adebowale Tunde, bail in the sum of N200,000 for allegedly stealing a N54,000 television set.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olubukola Olowolagba, in granting the bail ordered the accused to produce two sureties in like sum.

Olowolagba said the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and should show evidence of tax payment to Osun government.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Rasak Olaiwola, told the court that the accused was arraigned on a two-count charge of burglary and theft.

Olaiwola alleged that the accused committed the offence on April 11 at about 10:00 pm opposite Fakunle Comprehensive School in Osogbo.

He alleged that the accused broke into Royale Net Points, an electronics store, and carted away one 26-inch LG Plasma valued at N54,000.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened sections 413 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 vol. 11 Laws of Osun, 2004.

The accused, who had no legal representation, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The magistrate adjourned the case till June 8 for hearing .
