Justice Eni Esan adjourned the trial for adoption of written addresses after the defence lawyer, Mr Adeleke Bakare, had closed his case. Lamidi is facing trial for alleged murder of one Adekunle Oladipupo on March 2, 2014, at Iwo Road, Ibadan. He was charged alongside Saheed Kareem, Taiwo Tijani, Abu Kareem and Kazeem Kayode. The accused persons, arraigned in 2014, were charged with conspiracy, attempted murder and murder contrary to sections 516, 316 and 320 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000. They pleaded not guilty to the charges and have been remanded in prison. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported the accused persons denied committing the crime when they were being led in evidence by their lawyer. During cross-examination by Mr Tajudeen Abdulganiyu, the Director of Public Prosecution, Kareem specifically told the court that he was not a member of the NURTW. He, however, admitted that he knew Oladipupo while he was the NURTW chairman.]]>
