The judge, Malam Abubakar Sadiq, ordered the defendant to provide a surety in like sum, who not be below grade level seven in the civil service. Sadiq said that the surety must reside within the jurisdiction of the court, and adjourned the case till April 11 for hearing. Okechukwu, a resident of Plot 399 Saburi District, Abuja, was arraigned on a two-count charge of criminal breach of trust and cheating. The Prosecutor, Salisu Khaleel, told the court that Ogundare Toyin of Bob Metro Builders Nig. Ltd., Utako reported the matter at Gwarimpa Police Station, Abuja, on July 9. Khaleel said the defendant received N1,000,000 from Toyin on June 30 for the purpose of roofing his company’s two unit of terrace, situated at C, Close Citec Villa, Gwarimpa. He said that since Okechukwu received the money, he abandoned the work and converted the said amount to his personal use.
