The House has also ordered the six contractors that handled the airport project to refund the N6.4bn. The contractors include CGC Nigeria Limited, Avsatel Communication Limited, General Engineering Co-ground Lighting Limited, Strauss Corporation Limited, High Global Solid Resources Limited and Wago Global Venture Limited. The House had set up a special investigation committee on contracts awarded for the upgrade of the airport under the chairmanship of the Deputy Speaker, Alhaji Muhammad Buhari Aliero and 12 other members. In the 27-page report submitted to the House on Thursday, the committee said it found that the contract sum was supposed to be N8.6bn but was inflated above N10.6bn. The House Chairman Committee on Information, Saliu M. Dangoje, said at a news conference yesterday that in ascertaining the amount of money expended on the upgrade of the airport, the committee was guided by the payment made by the Ministry of Finance in that respect, including ancillary and consultancy contracts relating thereto and special imprest released to the airport in 2014 which stood at over N18.7bn between 2012 and 2015. ]]>
