President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the Nigerian judiciary to actively cooperate with the government in the launched anti-corruption war.
Speaking in Makurdi, Benue state, at the memorial lecture in honour of late Justice Alhassan Idoko, Buhari, who was represdented by Governor Samue Ortom, stressed the importance of an inclusive fight.
According to Channels TV, the speakers at the event called on lawyers to emulate Idoko in their practices, his integrity and commitment to the judiciary.
A serious step was made earlier this week in the government’s attempt to bring transparency to the financial accountability of the officials. President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo both publicly declared their assets. It was believed to be one of the APC elections campaign promises, which after six months of controversy, has been fulfilled.
