The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won five out of the 225 councillors elected during the council polls. Speaking to journalists, the KESIEC Commissioner in charge of media and Publicity, Alhaji Muhammed Kabiru Dabai said “in the election, 225 councillors were elected; the APC won 220 of them while the PDP won five in four local government local areas of Gwandu, Kalgo, Dandi and Argungu”. The Chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC), Alhaji Aliyu Muhammad Mera while addressing pressmen in Birnin Kebbi said the election was conducted in all the 21 local government areas of the state under peaceful atmosphere. He added that 28 political parties took part in the election which saw the ruling APC pulling a total of 95,881 votes in the 21 local government areas while the PDP has 28,514 votes.]]>
